Admission Requirements
Applicants must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree, granted by university of recognized standing, and a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B average) in the last 60 credit hours of undergraduate study. Graduate level credits are not used in the admission average.
Applicants must have completed at a minimum an undergraduate degree program in one of the following fields or equivalent*:
- Nursing
- Social Work
- Occupational Therapy
- Recreation Therapy
- Pharmacy
- Health Promotion
- Clinical Psychology
- MedicineÌý Ìý
*Those with four-year Bachelor degrees in other programs are also welcome to apply but are required to provide detail in their cover letter and resuméÌýexplaining how their education and work experience relate to the area of mental health and addictions, and how pursuing this certificate would support their work in this field.
English language proficiency
English is the language of study at ÍøºìºÚÁÏ; therefore all applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate their capacity to pursue a graduate-level program in English before admission (see chart). The language competency testÌýmayÌýbe waived if the applicant has completed a degree at a recognized university where the language of instruction is English in a country where English is one of the national languages. The claims must be verified by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Test scores are valid for two years from the date the test was written

Step 2 - Submit your supporting documentsAs part of the online application, you will be prompted to submit (1) transcripts, (2) two references, (3) a resume or CV, and English language proficiency results (if required). 1. Transcripts
2. Reference letters Two letters of reference are required.Ìý
Reference letters are provided in confidence to ÍøºìºÚÁÏ for the purposes of determining your suitability for admission to an academic program, receipt of an honour or award, or evaluating your research projects and materials and will be kept confidential. This confidential reference may be used internally by ÍøºìºÚÁÏ for the purposes of considering you for institutional, provincial and federal awards or scholarships. E-reference submission Make sure to have the email addresses of your referees ready to list when completing your online application. ÍøºìºÚÁÏ will only accept university, teaching hospital, and government email addresses (i.e. not personal email addresses, such as Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, or business addresses). 3. Current CV or Resume Please include education, work history, and relevant volunteer experience. 4. English language proficiency test results If you speak English as an additional language, results to verify your English proficiency must be provided to the Faculty of Graduate Studies before you start your program. You will not be able to register for classes until your ESL scores are verified. To do this:

*Transcript submissionÌýforÌýnewly acceptedÌýstudents If youÌýhave been accepted to ÍøºìºÚÁÏ, please send your final and official transcripts, stating degree completion, to the Faculty of Graduate Studies in any of theÌýfollowingÌýways within 90 days of the start of your program:
Transcripts must include your first and last name, degree, program type, name of degree issuing university and date of degree completion. Degree and graduation certificates must be included if your transcript do not indicate the type of degree and date granted. Additional important information:
