As part of an ongoing research study at the Hillier’s Lab, ACADIA
UNIVERSITY, on protection against vector of arthropod-borne diseases (e.g. Lyme disease), we are seeking ticks!
Our research is testing a novel set of tick repellent body spray based on essential oils.
If you find ticks, we would be happy to take them off your hands.
Please note: in order to perform the experiments, we need the
ticks to be alive!
For tick storage:
1. Save the tick(s) in a plastic bag that you can seal or a pill
bottle. Record the date and location of the collection.
2. Store the container for up to 10 days in the refrigerator.
If you have found them:
Please contact Nicoletta Faraone nicoletta.faraone@acadiau.ca
As well, samples can be dropped at the New Biology Building
(rooms 110 or 117), 33 Westwood Ave. (Wolfville, NS)
